Book is published to mark the 20th anniversary of the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia

Opening of the Danish Cultural Institute in June 1990 was an expression of support to Estonia and the other Baltic States in their fight for independence. The Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia will mark its 20 years’ anniversary with the presentation of a book about Danish-Estonian relations through the activities of the Institute and the insight into the turbulent years of the time.

There is 301 pages in the book. More than a thousand people and organizations are mentioned and over a hundred pictures presented.

Silvi Teesalu's book in Danish

Silvi Teesalu, the director of the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia published a book "Sirelid õitsevad juunis" in 2003. This is a book about her mother's life, who in the age of 20 was deported to Sibiria with her family. 
The book was translated into Danish by Peter Kyhn and published by Gyldendal under the title "Deporteret til Sibirien" in 2009. The book can be bought at Danish book stores.
The book has been well received and Gyldendal issued a second print in November 2009.
Kristelig Dagblad chose "Deporteret til Sibirien" among the 18 best books published in Denmark in 2009.

September 10th 2009 - at Kunstindustrimuseums Hall in Copenhagen. Opening words by the former Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Uffe Ellemann-Jensen.
September 24th 2009 - at GAD Bookstore in Aarhus.
November 6th 2009 - at the Danish Embassy in Tallinn.
November 14th 2009 - at the BogForum book fair in Copenhagen.
